-Our project is part of wider areas like Ambient Assisted Living/Activity Discovery/Senior Care. Having houses with only one inhabitant (usually an old person), the main idea of the project is to detect abnormal behaviors (critical situations, general health deteriorating situations) using data collected from smart sensors. The first step is detecting the usual routines and behavioral patterns of the inhabitant: the usual going-to-sleep and waking-up hours (we were able to detect sleeping periods with very good accuracy), the usual sleep-durations, average bathroom-visits per night, watching tv times, or more complex activities (any activity that was constantly present in the data, like eating or house cleaning). Also, we constantly monitor the average level of moving and other health indicators. The second step is to detect when these routines were not respected anymore. These detected anomalies can be triggers for critical situations or deteriorating health conditions. Technologies used: Clustering, Outlier Detection, Feature Extraction, Distance Metrics.
-Part of a fast intervention team responsible for providing software tools needed by various departments of Europol.
-The most important project was: Having a database with more than 1 million human faces (in the form of 128 dimensions vectors), my task was to group the faces that belonged to the same person. To accomplish this task I’ve used various clustering machine learning techniques (the vectors from the same cluster belonged to the same person). Algorithms used: Hierarchical Clustering, K-Means, DBSCAN.
-Other projects: Using the API provided by various social media sites (like Facebook, Twitter, etc.) Obtain information (like name, group of friends, current location) using input data like emails, phone numbers, or nicknames. Simulating the interaction between humans and the UI of Whatsapp application which was running on an Android device (we needed information like the statuses and the moment when the status was changing, so we've written a script that was automating some steps that previously a human operator had to do).
